How often should I workout?
It really depends on the person. However, most goals can be achieved by exercising at least 4-5 times a week. Our program is carefully designed to give you the right dose for success. Members who show up the most, see the biggest changes, fast. The most important thing is to listen to your body. If you feel great, you should come workout. If you feel great but a little too sore, it’s normal! Come in anyway and have one of our awesome coaches scale or modify your workout. If you feel worn down and tired, take a rest day or days. Always listen to your body.
Do I need to reserve class?
Yes! All of our members are required to reserve class through Zen Planner at least 2 hours before the start of class. It allows us to properly set up the room and adjust our workouts prior to you arriving.
How do I cancel my membership?
Notice must be given within 7 days of the next billing cycle. All cancellation requests are to be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
How do I keep track of my workouts?
Join in on the fun through our social workout tracking app, SugarWOD. Join NorthEast CrossFit and our workout of the day will upload to your feed. You can also keep your journal private if you prefer. Also, old-school pen and paper work just fine!
Am I sore or injured?
Most likely sore. It is typical, especially for beginners, to feel very sore in places that they have never felt before. The best way to get rid of soreness is to get moving!
Do I still need to go to another gym and do cardio or weights?
Definitely not. CrossFit combines all aspects of physical fitness including cardio and weight training.
I am out of shape and I can’t do anything intense.
First the intensity is all relative to yourself and not anyone else. Second, as a beginner your goal isn’t to be super intense but to set a good routine of coming to the gym and working out. While you are doing this, you should also be learning as much as you can and really developing and understanding the correct techniques for each movement. Once you have been working out for consistently, have a good routine, and understand the movements and can do it with the correct technique, your next goal is to start hitting the workouts as hard as YOU can.
I am a woman and I don’t want to get bulky and buff by lifting weight.
Don’t worry, you won’t. Most men lift weights everyday hours at a time trying to get buff. If its this hard for a man to get buff and bulky, it’s going to be a lot harder for a woman to get bulky. If CrossFit got women bulky, we’d be out of business!
Should I be taking any supplements?
If you are on a good health diet, you should be able to take in all the necessary vitamins and minerals that your body needs. We do recommend taking a protein supplement, as most of us do not take in enough protein for our bodies to recover. Consult with your doctor regarding any deficiencies in your body.
